SHELF LIFE EPISODE 12: The Haunted Shelf

What do you do when your action figures are possessed?

You may have noticed some strange activity on Shelf Life lately. A collapsing shelf. Random figures falling. Today, things aren’t just heating up… they’re getting haunted. Its all happening in my man cave and this time, I caught it on camera. See the evidence for yourself — watch the video below.

The Hunting Begins

Here's What Happened...

It all started when my Captain America figure — yes, the one missing an arm (don’t worry, a replacement is coming next episode) — suddenly flew off the shelf and zipped around the room (but you’d already this know if you watched the video above). I think my action figured is possessed!

So naturally, I did what any responsible midlife geek would do: I chanted “Beetlejuice” three times…

… and then I remembered, he’s bio‑exorcist. A people exterminator!

Fortunatly for me it was only my brand‑new NECA Beetlejuice figure that materialized! So I had to call in the real experts… I picked up the phone and dialed the only number that made sense…

Janine Melnitz answered the phone...

Janine Melnitz answered the phone! Or rather the actress that played Janine, Annie Potts. And yes — I absolutely admit that I have the hots for Annie Potts. (Zero regrets.) Anyhow, she informed me that the Ghostbusters will becoming over to bust the ghosts haunting my man cave!

Moments later, my Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary 2‑Pack — Egon and Peter — showed up on the scene. Perfect opportunity for another review…

And a perfect reminder that I’ve got new Hasbro versions of all four Ghostbusters on the way soon.

And speaking of things arriving soon…

My blank shelf is still waiting for your vote. There’s still time to choose your team — so if you haven’t cast your vote yet, now’s your moment to have your say in the comment section below. Hurry… there’s only one more episode left before the polls close and the shelf gets filled.

Choose:

  1. Original X-Force (Rob Liefeld)
  2. Jim Lee X-Men (Blue & Gold Teams)
  3. Uncanny X-Force Strike Team

Final Thoughts

Wrapping things up for this episode, we’ve had a crazy episode: haunted shelves, flying figures. Beetlejuice. Ghostbusters. and my confession of the hots… for Annie Potts.

Don’t forget, if you are a Ghostbusters — The 30th Anniversary 2-pack is an absolute must‑have. I’m sad to get rid of it, but I have to make room for new things!

What about YOU? Which are you a fan of? Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice… or Annie Potts…
